United Way for Spoon River Country

It's 2016-2017 United Way Campaign Time!!!!

The United Way for Spoon River Country is proud to be celebrating 65 years of service to Fulton County! Over the past 65 years, thousands of individuals have been helped by our partner agencies through generous contributions to our annual campaign by individuals such as yourself.  The investment you make in the United Way most certainly has a direct impact on our community.

Some of the amazing things that were accomplished last year by our partner agencies are as follows:

  • 3 Habitat for Humanity houses were built.  Given that building costs have almost doubled since their first house was built in 1999, funding for this program is critical.
  • Almost 3,000 meals were served to school-aged children over the course of the summer months through the YWCA.  Without this vital program, many children would be going hungry during the summertime.
  • The Health & Wellness Connection of Fulton County helped 21 individuals pay for life saving medications such as heart, seizure, asthma, diabetic, cholesterol, and high blood pressure.  Being able to purchase these medications allowed these individuals to avoid additional complications.
  • The American Red Cross helped over 3,500 individuals in times of disaster to provide food, shelter, clothing, medication, household items and counseling services. The American Red Cross is an invaluable organization to help those in need during a crisis.
As we begin another campaign, we hope you will consider a contribution to the United Way for Spoon River Country.

The United Way has brought together people and resources to build a safety net to help meet the needs of our friends, neighbors, co-workers and families.

A constant reminder that when we as individuals think outside ourselves, we have the power to facilitate change. When we think of others’ lives as linked to our own, our compassion grows. When we reach out a hand to one, we influence the condition of all. We build the strength of our neighborhoods. We bolster the health of our communities. And we change the lives of those who walk by us every day.
