NEW LEADERSHIP FOR THE UNITED WAY FOR SPOON RIVER COUNTRY

(CANTON, IL) The United Way for Spoon River Country announced today that Ann Lockhart has been hired to lead the organization effective August 22, 2016.  Lockhart replaces Pattie Oldfield who led the United Way for three and a half years.  Lockhart brings over ten years of United Way experience to Canton.  She previously served as the Executive Director for the United Way of Knox County in Galesburg, Illinois.

“I am incredibly honored to be named the Executive Director for the United Way for Spoon River Country.  I am looking forward to getting to know our donors, the Fulton County community, and our partner agencies.  Pattie did a great job, and I hope to continue the success she has had in the last three and a half years,” Lockhart said.

Lori Evans, President of the United Way for Spoon River Country Board of Directors said, “Thank you Pattie for your commitment and dedication. You will be missed.  Welcome Ann, we are excited to have you and look forward to working with you."

The United Way for Spoon River Country will begin its annual fundraising campaign in October.  This is the organization’s 65th year providing financial support to health and human services within Fulton County.  Currently, the United Way provides funds to 25 programs administered by 13 local agencies.  Individuals from all over Fulton County receive help through these programs.

With regards to the upcoming campaign, Lockhart said, “I look forward to speaking with businesses and individuals about the impact their investment in the United Way has on our community.  More than ever, monetary contributions are needed to help those who need a hand up and support from the programs provided by our partner agencies.  Because the money raised stays local, you can see the impact that your contribution has made first hand.”
